Experiencing life in Nusa Penida

My partner and I had great time on our trip to Nusa Penida. We were blessed to see a giant Manta Ray and a lot of beautiful, colourful fish. The second half of our trip, Ben took us for a ride to the tourist spots of his island. As he’s born on the island he answered all of our questions we had. As Ben has a lot of knowledge he shared about life on Nusa Penida Island with us along the way.

Fantastic tour of spectacular scenery in Nusa. The snorkelling was also fantastic - we didn’t see a manta but did see a sea turtle which was absolutely incredible. For the scenery part of our tour we had lovely Ben as our driver - he took us to spectacular locations, answered all our questions and took pictures for us. Definitely would recommend. (NB make sure to bring cash - we had no cash which served difficult at lunch where nobody accepted card)

We had a great time on this one day tour! Our guide Ben was super nice, put on our favourite music in the car and told us all about nusa penida. The snorkelling was also really cool, unfortunately we couldn’t see manta rays though. I would recommend it to everyone if you want to see the best spots in Nusa Penida!

What a great day! Highly recommend, and wouldn’t have been as good if we didn’t have Putu as our guide- he was fantastic! If you’re visiting Bali you need to do at least a day out on this island, the snorkelling also was great as they took you to all great spots to snorkel & provided equipment.

Komang is the BEST!!

Komang was a friendly guide who knew the best spots around the island away from the crowds but still being able to capture the beauty of the attractions. He spoke English well & organised the day well for us. He even showed us pics of his dogs

We had a great tour with multiple dive locations to see different coral and fish. Also managed to see a manta ray at one location.
Could maybe spend more time at less locations rather than getting in and out of the boat multiple times

Snorkelling experience disappointing

Ground transport from hotel, on Nusa Penida and return were amazing - on time, polite, informative. The Nusa Penida guide took pics for us at the beaches we went to, and ensured we got on the ferry back to the main island safely. Downside - snorkelling at Manta Ray Bay was soooooo disappointing. Conditions were fair at best, and there were too many boats, & it was too crowded. The non English speaking dive guide jumped in and just expected us to follow - and with the conditions as they were this would have been harrowing for some people, we are experienced divers and still found this unpleasant. If the conditions aren't great, don't go there. The 2nd spot was a lovely and calm protected reef, perfect. The third spot an open bay - fine for us but not for everyone. I'm sure there were more weather appropriate spots that they could have gone to - we just needed a discussion. As this was a private tour, it should have been possible to adjust the tour for our requirements. Disappointing for the price.

Waves too high for snorkeling experience

We did snorkeling at four different spots. Only one of the spot had calm water, lots of fishes and shallow sea bed to experience corals. The other spots were either too deep or had high waves to do snorkeling.
Note: Always stay close to the boat when snorkeling. The boat constantly drifts and if you stay at the same spot you'll find yourself stranded and scared.

The tour guide/driver who received me was friendly and caring taking good pictures and videos. He offered free snacks and first aid when I hurt myself a bit.
