I needed a refresher lesson having not surfed in about 6 years and came across these guys. To answer the main question, yes I think you should absolutely go ahead and book with them. Paul was helpful with sorting things out and my lesson with Lubis was great. He was extremely positive, patient and encouraging - everything you want in an instructor. He's called "the master guru" by his colleagues for a reason. Unbeatable value in the price and experience, and I would 100% recommend to everyone whilst in Bali.

The surfing lesson was fun, the waves were pretty big on the day of our lesson but we still felt safe and managed to learn how to stand up. Definitely recommend this excursion. We were helped by Darwin and Robert and received good tips from Paul too.

Writing my first TripAdvisor review as I couldn’t rave enough about this surf school! Not only were the prices for the lessons dirt cheap, the instructors were fantastic!! They were very attentive, constantly looking out for our techniques and making sure to correct us if we’ve done anything wrongly. Further, the instructors for our group were loads of fun - easy to chat with and cracked jokes every now and then. The biggest bonus came at the end of the lesson, where the staff told us that they would be uploading the photos taken of us (by their in-house photographer) to a Google Drive! The pictures turned out almost pro-like quality, making us look much cooler than we thought we looked.

Cons:
- Had to wake up early for this - 6am class, am not a morning person (but no regrets afterwards)
TLDR: Absolutely value-for-money surf school. Go here for fantastic instructors and cool pictures.

I always wanted to go surfing and I am glad I did it.
The instructor was clear and friendly. During the session the owner made pictures and they are great!!

Gede was a fantastic instructor! I was very lucky as there was just me and one other person in the group for the afternoon lesson so it was almost like a 1:1 session. Gede was very patient and gave us both feedback everytime we surfed. He stated in the water with us the entire time and I felt very safe and comfortable knowing that he was around.
I was slightly disappointed to hear that no photos or videos had been taken during the lesson. Gede said that it was only the morning session. However, I was asked for my email address when I booked so that videos and photos could be shared and I’ve never surfed before so some evidence, good or bad, would’ve been nice to have.
Other than that though, I can’t fault Gede at all. It was a brilliant afternoon!

Our instructors were amazing, all of us had never done it before and all stood up. We had a great time, really well organised and can't recommend enough!
Don't expect much with the lesson, just enjoy the water :)

Surfing theory demonstrated was ok. Average surfing lessons from beginners perspective. Staff could have demonstrated surfing techniques in the sea.
